Medical Director - Inpatient Psychiatry

Pay: Starting at $300,000/year (Commensurate with Experience)

Medical Director Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program
  
• Board Certified in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
  
• Active or eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Kentucky and/or Indiana
  
• Previous leadership experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief of Psychiatry, or similar role preferred
  
• Demonstrated inpatient psychiatry experience required
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  
• Commitment to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based behavioral healthcare
  
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and regulatory compliance standards
  

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for hospital-based inpatient behavioral health services
  
• Perform psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and ongoing care for hospitalized patients
  
• Collaborate with hospital leadership, nursing, therapists, social workers, and case management to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction
  
• Establish and maintain evidence-based standards for quality, safety, and psychiatric care delivery
  
• Assist with physician recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development
  
• Develop and implement clinical policies, treatment protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
  
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and behavioral health best practices
  
• Participate in medical staff meetings, committee work, and leadership initiatives
  
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record
  
• Participate in an equitable on-call rotation while supporting operational excellence across behavioral health services
