Details Work in the Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital Care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients Uses Epic for EMR documentation Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 days per week (12-hour shifts, 36 hours weekly) 6 weekend shifts required per six-week schedule Rotating holiday coverage required Floating to similar units required No on-call responsibilities Requirements Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted) Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience Level 1 Trauma experience required Telemetry experience required Epic EMR charting experience required ASN required, BSN preferred Additional Information Manage care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients, including care planning, medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and lab monitoring Prepare patients for procedures and provide pain management as needed Perform patient discharge planning and provide instructions for safe transition from hospital Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients and families Participate in team huddles and delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up Provide basic patient care such as turning and toileting per standards of care Demonstrate professional communication and conflict resolution skills with all team members Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract Workers who have completed 1 year of continuous assignment with this health system must take a 6-month break in service before returning American Traveler Job ID P-746056.
