The Medical Assistant will perform their job duties in a professional manner while assuring that all the needs of the patients are met with a pleasant demeanor.Essential Functions:Take and record patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature) and medical historyAssist healthcare providers during exams and minor proceduresAdminister injections or medications as directed by a healthcare providerSterilize instruments and maintain a clean and sterile environmentMaintaining medication and immunization records and screening and following up on test results as directed by a healthcare providerMaintain and restock appropriate levels of exam and procedure room stock suppliesAssist with patient questions and/or complaints for resolution of concernsComplies and ensures compliance with applicable legislation, funding and organizational requirements, policies and proceduresEnsure confidential handling of sensitive team member information in line with data protection policies and lawsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is requiredCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) or similarHIPAA and Privacy training within 90 days of employmentBlood borne pathogen training annuallyCPR/First Aid within initial 90 (ninety) days of hireAbility to understand, speak, communicate and read the English languageAbility to utilize RPMS and EHR proficientlyRequires ability to utilize a multi-line telephone with good telephone etiquetteProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentialityWell-developed human relation skills to convey technical concepts to others and to give instructionsAbility to communicate technical information and to interact with a wide variety of groups and individuals inside and outside the organizationAbility to plan, organize, and prioritize work processes in a high-volume environment in order to meet schedules and timelinesAbility to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trendsAbility to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body languageAbility to take initiative and be proactive in the duties of the position in order to meet mandated deadlines and to comply with goals and objectivesPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit and stand for long periods of timeManual and finger dexterity to complete dutiesAbility to frequently bend, stoop, and reachAbility to push and pull frequentlyAbility to lift up to 50 (fifty) pounds periodicallyAbility to comprehend complex issuesSufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice non-verbal behaviorSpeech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment promptsThis job/class description, describes the general nature of the work performed, representative duties as well as the typical qualifications needed for acceptable performance.
