Cardiac Operating Room RN First Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Operating Room RN First Assistant (RNFA) to join our dynamic surgical team. The primary focus of this role is to provide assistance in surgical procedures, primarily related to cardiac surgeries. The ideal candidate must have a solid background in cardiac care and be prepared to assist with chest exposure, closing, and the independent performance of vein harvesting for CABG procedures.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Cardiac OR RNFA include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with chest exposure and closure during cardiac surgeries.
• Independently performing vein harvesting for CABG procedures.
• Assisting in DaVinci robotic cases (preferred).
• Scrubbing and circulating complex cardiac cases, including CABGs and structural heart cases (preferred).
• Providing care for heart failure cases and participating in heart transplant surgeries (preferred).

Schedule

This position offers a flexible schedule of 36 to 48 hours per week, primarily on weekdays from 7 AM to 7 PM and 11 AM to 11 PM, with on-call responsibilities as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RNFA experience in a cardiac setting.
• Current New York State RN license.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• CNOR certification.
• Experience in telemetry.
