Ophthalmology Operating Room Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

36 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday during the day with on-call responsibilities for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Job Description

The OR staff utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages in both scrub and circulating roles within the ophthalmology operating room.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and support in the operating room environment.
• Assist with scrubbing and circulating during ophthalmological procedures.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Handle on-call responsibilities as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License in New York State.
• Minimum of two (2) years of operating room experience, preferably in a Level 1 trauma center.
• Experience with cataracts, retina, glaucoma, cornea, and pediatrics.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• ACLS Certification is preferred.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in the operating room.
