VP, Finance

European Wax Center

About The Role The VP of Finance will be responsible for planning, forecasting, analytic processes, and business decision support analyses in all areas of the business. The position reports to the CFO and will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to develop strategies and initiatives aimed at developing new business opportunities and elevating the Network’s financial performance. A Day in the Life Plays a key role in supporting the strategic planning process Directs and maintains financial planning processes including annual operating plan, the 5‑year strategic plan, and monthly and quarterly forecasts; reviews forecasts and trends of expenses and identifies issues and opportunities Identifies and implements analytic processes to optimize investment allocation to achieve both strategic impact and targeted portfolio and brand returns. Ensures capabilities, proper procedures and tools are available to better support investment decisions and expansion strategies Manages all capital market relationships and is closely aligned with the accounting department with respect to information required in support of EWC’s credit facility requirements Works with business unit owners to define key performance indicators used to measure overall operational performance including supporting monthly departmental reviews of actual vs. forecast variances Directs and oversees financial analysis and statistical studies Directs and oversees the budgeting process Prepares and maintains application financial models Reviews data on historical and future trends in performance; develops reports and provides advice and counsel to management for development of appropriate actions Provides leadership in the creation, implementation, and communication of financial information to the organization Identifies internal and external analytic best practices and leads continuous improvement in planning and analytics at corporate and brands Oversees the maintenance of Business Intelligence tools implemented by the Company Provides functional business decision support Acts as Finance lead to improve Network Center performance and 4‑wall profitability Leads the Cloud Based Software that automates the collection and consolidation of center level financial statements, including ongoing training and effective communication to franchisees on areas of opportunities vs. benchmarks Develops the Field Finance annual plan Develops and implements tools to drive improved performance (including trending, key performance metrics, return on investment, financial statement reviews, benchmarking, budgeting, and planning) Develop center level KPIs/dashboards for all relevant network stakeholders including a systemic continuous dialogue with Franchisees on various topics of interest and best practices, including revenue growth drivers and expense management Manages finance inquiries from Franchisees Prepares Board of Director materials related to the Network performance, including monthly variance analysis relative to budget Performs financial reporting, ad-hoc project analysis, and financial modeling using a broad range of tools, including Excel Leads the planning, development and execution of business acumen and finance content for presentation at various events Analyzes and develops current and future financial systems and reporting tools and formats for management Build and lead a high performing FP&A team; Serves as a mentor / coach to develop staff to accomplish departmental objectives and deliverables Performs other financial related duties as assigned What Sets You Apart Analytic skills necessary to understand key drivers of the EWC long range strategy and business model, and ability to align internal financial models with analyst and investor valuation models Strong written and verbal communications skills and judgment regarding communication content are required to interact independently with various levels of management across the company Strong collaboration and cross-functional skills to enable working across functions and at multiple levels Proven track record developing, planning and forecasting models as well as managing the budget and forecasting process Demonstrated ability to present analysis and insight to senior leadership and influence decision making Solid knowledge of the retail industry (preferred) and the specific accounting requirements associated with it Strong computer and advanced analytical skills with working knowledge of relational databases Expert understanding and application of financial and accounting terms and practices. Expert ability to build and maintain financial models as well as complete understanding and knowledge of financial projections, ROI, comps, budgeting, sales projections, and long-range planning Strict attention to detail and intensity around consistently delivering a high-quality work product is essential Proven ability to recruit and coach and manage an analytic team Able to lead and execute operational analysis Effectively interfaces with other departments to achieve common goals Demonstrated ability of creating impact through discussion, brainstorming and actions Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills Excellent leadership skills focused on people development and bench‑strength building Education And Experience Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field. Master’s degree highly preferred 10+ years progressive experience in a finance environment with exposure to general accounting, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, and corporate reporting Minimum of 5 years in finance leadership role required Must have prior experience leading a brand/operating unit FP&A team and experience as part of a Private Equity Sponsor portfolio company Retail or consumer products industry experience is highly preferred Prior roles in FP&A highly preferred CPA/CFA a plus Franchise industry experience a plus This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship European Wax Center is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
