Cardiovascular Coordinator Registered Nurse Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health, is a leading healthcare provider in San Antonio, specializing in a wide range of medical services from emergency care to advanced specialty surgery. We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Coordinator Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate and deliver comprehensive cardiovascular nursing care for patients across the continuum, including pre‑procedure, peri‑procedure, and post‑procedure phases for cardiac and vascular services. The Cardiovascular Coordinator RN will collaborate closely with cardiologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, timely, and evidence‑based care. Responsibilities Oversee the coordination of patient flow for invasive and non‑invasive cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, interventional cardiology procedures, vascular interventions, and related diagnostic testing. Assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and monitor hemodynamic status. Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, procedures, medications, and post‑discharge care plans. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards. Streamline scheduling, coordinate with ancillary departments, and support efficient use of cath lab, procedural suites, and cardiovascular resources. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and implementation of best practices in cardiovascular nursing. Engage in case reviews, performance improvement projects, and staff education related to cardiovascular protocols, pathways, and new technologies. Qualifications Registered Nurse with a strong background in cardiac or critical care nursing, telemetry, or cath lab services. Comfortable with cardiac rhythm interpretation, managing cardiovascular medications and drips per protocol, and responding to emergencies such as STEMI activations, arrhythmias, and hemodynamic instability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to act as a liaison among patients, families, physicians, and interprofessional team members.
