Medical Assistant CMA/MA

Job Summary:

Provides clinical and administrative support in a medical practice to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care delivery. Acts as a liaison between patients and physicians, assisting with basic medical procedures and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Greet patients and gather preliminary patient history to prepare for examinations.
  
  
• 
  Perform vital signs and assist physicians during exams and procedures.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
  
  
• 
  Manage administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and answering phones.
  
  
• 
  Maintain clinical supplies, clean and sterilize instruments, and stock exam rooms.
  
  
• 
  Support staff orientation and assume charge responsibilities in the absence of supervision.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Minimum of 2 years of medical assistant experience.
  
  
• 
  High school diploma or equivalent required.
  
  
• 
  Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); other certifications as listed preferred.
  
  
• 
  Licensed in Michigan with verification via LARA and Nursys if applicable.
  
  
• 
  Comfortable handling clerical tasks, patient interactions, and clinical procedures.
