Open Rank / Open Track Faculty - School of Nursing The School of Nursing at Boise State University invites applications for three full‑time faculty positions. These are open‑rank (Assistant or Associate Professor) and open‑track (Tenure or Clinical) positions. Appointment rank and track will be based on teaching experience, scholarly record, and professional contributions. The ideal start date is August 2026. Positions are location‑specific to the Boise State University campus and require in‑person, pre‑license BS program teaching. Clinical Track Clinical Faculty will focus primarily on teaching students in both academic and clinical settings, supervising clinical experiences, and engaging in professionally related community service. Research or scholarship activities are not required. Tenure-Track Tenure-Track Faculty will teach, conduct research, develop a strong scholarly agenda in nursing or a closely related field, and participate in service activities. Instructional Focus Primary teaching occurs in the learning lab, simulation lab, and clinical settings. Instructional responsibilities take place in these applied learning environments rather than in traditional didactic classrooms. Workload Tenure-Track Faculty: 60% teaching, 20% scholarship, 20% service. Clinical Faculty: 80% teaching, 20% service (approximately 12 hours per semester). Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing or enrollment in a graduate nursing program. Licensed Registered Nurse in Idaho or in a nursing compact state by the start date. Competence in a specific clinical practice area. For tenure-track candidates: Doctoral degree in nursing. Strong research agenda, including publications and evidence of pursuing internal and external funding commensurate with rank. Preferred Qualifications Online or hybrid teaching experience. Experience teaching with simulation. Experience creating experiential learning activities in the skills lab. Ability to coordinate on-campus experiential learning courses. Undergraduate and/or graduate level teaching experience. Clinical certifications demonstrating competency in a nursing specialty. A defined area of research and evidence of scholarly dissemination.
