Key Responsibilities of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse

• Provide patient care across a diverse range of emergency scenarios, including stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure
• Administer specialty medications, including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, and sedatives
• Utilize specialty equipment correctly, such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun
• Adapt to floating requirements and demonstrate charge capability when needed
• Operate efficiently within a 64-bed unit composed of acute, super track, trauma, CDU, and psych areas

Requirements of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse

• Active New York RN License verified by NURSYS with matching demographic address
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Minimum 2+ years of ED experience, including some PEDS experience
• Documented travel nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
• Living 75 miles away from the facility for travel eligibility
• Up-to-date professional resume and skills checklist
