CAD Manager

Job Summary A CAD Manager oversees the research, development, training, and management of CAD software, implementing CAD standards and procedures across all projects with technical expertise in CAD software. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and implement company-wide CAD Standards and procedures which include templates, sheet setup, styles, and file organization and naming to ensure consistency, branding, and efficiency. Stay current on CAD and related software, industry trends, and implement software upgrades to enhance company efficiency and productivity. Maintain CAD license inventory and assist leadership with license review and renewal. Lead a group of selected individuals to implement CAD Standards for consistency across the organization. Attend kickoff meetings to provide guidance on CAD Standards, templates, and best practices. Review initial plan setups by project teams for adherence to CAD Standards and provide feedback and guidance. Prepare monthly staff training topics and lead presentations. Create and administer a CAD training plan for new hires during onboarding. Serve as primary contact for all CAD‑related technical issues from staff and IT. Collaborate with IT on CAD installations, updates, upgrades, file structure, storage, archiving, and retrieval of all CAD drawings. Travel to offices regularly to promote CAD Standards, offer support, and troubleshoot issues. Provide CAD production support on selected projects assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications A minimum of 15 years of relevant direct CAD software experience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Revit. Strong familiarity with CAD software relevant to IT infrastructure. Strong knowledge of drafting principles and industry standards. Problem‑solving abilities, organizational skills, and strong communication. Ability to manage multiple projects and CAD requests. Data and document management inventory and organization. Ability to travel to multiple offices. Work Environment Typical office environment with travel to other offices as needed to train and support staff. Impromptu meetings via telephone and virtual to discuss CAD issues and walk staff through solutions. Partial remote option available subject to supervisory approval.
