Job Title – Engineering Technician III

Location – 1000 Technology Drive, West Columbia, SC, 29170

Contract – 03+ months contract (Possible contract to hire)

Pay Range – $25 - $30 USD hourly on W2

Shift Timing :  First Shift - Monday-Thursday: 7:30am-3:30pm or 5:30am-3:30pm as needed, Friday 5:30am-2:00pm. Saturday: 5:30am-12:00pm or 5:30am-2:00pm as needed. Sunday: 5:30am-12:00pm as needed.

Second Shift - Monday-Thursday: 3:00pm-11:00pm, Friday: 2:00pm-10:30pm. Saturday: 5:30am-12:00pm or 5:30am-2:00pm as needed. Sunday: Not at this time but must be open to working Sunday's.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician III to support engineering development, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing complex engineering tests, diagnosing hardware and system issues, analyzing test results, and supporting engineers in the development and implementation of products, processes, and test solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience working with engineering documentation, and the ability to support multiple engineering projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complex engineering tests, checkouts, and development-related engineering tasks.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system, hardware, and component-level failures.
• Analyze engineering test results and implement corrective actions to resolve technical issues.
• Set up and conduct operational tests on development systems and equipment to verify compliance with design specifications.
• Review engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to determine testing requirements and solutions.
• Fabricate, modify, and assemble mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, and test fixtures.
• Collect, document, and analyze test data, providing recommendations for product and process improvements.
• Assist engineers in designing and developing hardware, software, and test solutions.
• Maintain engineering documentation, software revisions, and equipment configurations.
• Support new product development, validation, standardization, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Train technicians and operators on products, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Assist with customer projects, presentations, and documentation as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate Degree, Military Technical Training, Vocational Training, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of engineering technician, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, or related experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills at system and component levels.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with engineering testing, validation, and data analysis.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret technical data and test results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in electronics manufacturing, industrial equipment, or server systems environments.
• Experience supporting hardware and software development projects.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
• Previous experience training or mentoring technicians.
• Knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement practices.
