Business Development Manager - Data & AI Recruitment

Hybrid Working: 4 days in-office, 1 day remote Salary dependent on experience and seniority. As we continue to expand our Phoenix office, we’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of winning new clients, growing commercial relationships, and driving revenue across the US market. This is a recruitment role with a difference. It is purely focused on the client and sales side of the business. You won’t be sourcing candidates day to day. Instead, you’ll focus on identifying new opportunities, opening doors, winning new accounts, and developing long-term client partnerships, while working alongside specialist recruitment teams responsible for candidate delivery. The Opportunity This is a high-impact commercial role for someone who has a strong track record of building new business and wants the freedom to focus on what they do best. You’ll own the full client sales cycle, from identifying and approaching prospective businesses through to pitching, negotiating, winning new roles, and developing those relationships over time. You’ll join our Phoenix office at an important stage of growth, giving you the opportunity to build a significant client portfolio and play a visible role in the continued development of the team. What You’ll Be Doing Identifying and winning new client relationships across the Data & AI market. Owning the full business development cycle from prospecting through to close. Developing strategic relationships with senior decision-makers. Pitching Harnham’s recruitment services and identifying solutions to client hiring challenges. Negotiating commercial terms and converting opportunities into revenue. Growing existing accounts through cross-sell, upsell, and long-term relationship development. Partnering with internal delivery consultants to ensure a high-quality service for clients. Building and executing account and territory plans to maximise commercial opportunities. Who We’re Looking For Experienced recruitment or B2B sales professional with a strong commercial track record. Proven ability to win net-new business rather than focusing solely on account management. Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close. Strong relationship-builder who is confident engaging with senior stakeholders. Consistent performance and evidence of delivering revenue over time. Good tenure and a track record that demonstrates progression and sustained success. Commercial, ambitious, resilient, and motivated by building something long-term. Recruitment, technology, Data, or AI experience is desirable, but not essential.
