Senior Fund Accountant Alternative investments

A leading alternative investment firm is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its growing finance team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with fund leadership, investment professionals, third-party administrators, and auditors while supporting a portfolio of hedge funds and managed accounts.

Responsibilitie

• Maintain and review accounting records for hedge funds and managed accounts
• Perform and oversee reconciliations between trading and portfolio accounting systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Review NAV packages prepared by third-party administrators and analyze key drivers of fund performance
• Partner with investment, operations, and finance teams on accounting, valuation, and reporting matters
• Assist with audits, financial reporting, and ongoing fund accounting processes
• Identify opportunities to enhance controls, reporting, and operational efficiencies
• Support and mentor junior team members as needed

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong experience in hedge fund accounting, fund administration, public accounting, or alternative investments
• Working knowledge of Advent Geneva required
• Experience with hedge fund structures, NAV calculations, and third-party administrators
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Experience with derivatives, fixed income products, and alternative investment strategies
• Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or other reporting and analytics tools
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
