This position plays a critical role in patient care, safety, and emergency response operations./ppEssential Duties and Responsibilities:/pulliAnswer all incoming internal and external calls promptly and professionally/liliOperate computerized switchboard and paging systems/liliRoute patient, staff, and public inquiries appropriately/liliRespond to emergency calls, alarms, disaster codes, and 911 notifications/liliAnnounce emergency codes using public address and paging systems/liliMaintain call logs, incident records, and ward information/liliAssist callers with placing outgoing calls/liliMonitor alarm systems and emergency communication equipment/liliProvide calm, professional service to distressed or difficult callers/liliUse Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for reporting/liliComply with HIPAA, VA policies, and security requirements/li/ulpRequirements:/pulliHigh school diploma or Associate Degree/lili12 years of call center or telephone operator experience/liliMedical terminology knowledge preferred/liliStrong communication and customer service skills/liliAbility to pass background check and security clearance/liliHIPAA and VA training required (provided)/li/ulpWork Environment:/pulliOn-site medical facility/liliRotating shifts; no permanent shift assignments/liliVA-provided equipment/li/ul/div
