About the Position

The ER is a fast-paced and high-acuity environment. The standard patient ratio is 4:1, but may occasionally flex to 5:1. Candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience. Experience at a Level I trauma center is preferred. First-time travelers are not accepted for this role. Nurses will be expected to work every other weekend. Candidates must possess certifications in ACLS and BCLS. The role highly requires interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with EPIC charting is required. Nurses will not be considered if they do not meet the required skills. This position involves handling diverse patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census averages around 250 patients. Expected tasks may include managing trauma cases, administering emergency medications, and providing care to critically ill patients. Nurses must be able to float within service lines to meet facility needs. In addition, there will be a focus on behavioral health within the ER. Experience in critical care nursing and trauma care is essential for this position. Candidates can expect a supportive work environment with interdisciplinary collaboration. All travelers must adhere to the organization's compliance policy regarding time off requests. Orientation hours may be required prior to starting the position.
