Obstetrics And Gynecology Advanced Practice Provider

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is looking for a skilled and highly motivated candidate to support our gynecology physicians at our Flossmoor, IL and Northwest Indiana - Crown Point locations. This position would entail physician support, running independent ambulatory clinics, and performing outpatient procedures where applicable. This position will perform duties as an APP who is qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients under the scope of supervising and/or alternating supervising physicians. Services provided in our sections for patients include well woman care, problem visits, post-operative care, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Services are provided with available consultation from attending physicians and in collaboration with medical trainees. The supervising physician or the alternate physician maintains final responsibility for the care of the patient and the performance of the APP.

Responsibilities include independently seeing patients in Hyde Park and offsite clinics, administering, ordering, and interpreting diagnostic tests, examining patients to obtain information about their physical condition, instructing and counseling patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance, administering or ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting diagnostic test results for deviations from normal, diagnosing and making decisions about the management and treatment of patients, obtaining, compiling, and recording patient medical data, performing therapeutic procedures, prescribing therapy or medication, performing biopsies and contraceptive procedures, visiting and observing patients on hospital rounds or house calls, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to the physician, ordering medical and laboratory supplies and equipment, designing patient education programs, evaluating goals and outcomes, developing diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions, understanding and responding to adverse drug reactions, coordinating APP training and professional development activities, and performing other related work as needed.
