Laboratory Technologist - Clinical laboratory Scientist

Clinical Lab Scientist Blood Bank

Schedule: 4x10hr variable days, primarily nights starting at 2130 (may flex to 2000), with rotating weekends and holidays. Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays.

Assignment Details: High-volume blood bank, expecting ~3050 samples/day with a heavy type/screen and crossmatch workload.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years clinical lab experience required.
• Recent blood bank travel experience within the last 2 years.
• EPIC (Beaker) experience required.
• Experience in a large hospital (300+ beds) required.
• Trauma Level I experience is required; Level II noted as a plus.
• Valid state license required.
• ASCP-BB (or ACP-BB) certification required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform blood bank testing such as ABO/Rh, antibody screen and identification, indirect Coombs, and transfusion reaction workup.
• Conduct electronic crossmatch and component modification procedures.
• Work independently during assigned shifts, especially night shifts.
• Utilize blood bank software including Wellsky and Immucor as necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with clinical staff to ensure safe blood transfusions.

Compliance / Notes: Two references required covering one year within the last three years. Must disclose any prior employment with the facility. Scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application.
