Summary:

• Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope.

• Makes technical decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.

• Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.

• Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas.

• Acts independently to determine improved methods and procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements.

• Works under consultative direction using independent judgment to accomplish objectives.

• Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.

• Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program.

• Applies stress analysis on aircraft primary structures using FEM and classical hand analysis methods.

• Performs fatigue analysis on aircraft structures for structural integrity validation.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 13 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelor's degree.

• Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in stress analysis on aircraft primary structures.

• Experience in fatigue analysis on aircraft structures.

• Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) for structural analysis.

• Preferred: CATIA V5 experience for 3D modeling and design.

• Preferred: Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

• Preferred: Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum.
