Repair Technician

Schneider is seeking a Repair Technician in Green Bay to rebuild mechanical and electrical tractor and trailer components. The Repair Technician will work with Schneider maintenance associates and outside vendor representatives to determine why components failed and how repairs should be approached. Responsibilities include inspecting, cleaning, evaluating, testing, and rebuilding semi-truck components, such as cab heaters, pumps, alternators, radiators, transmissions, and compressors. The position also involves receiving inventory, stocking shelves, pulling orders, and unloading trailers. A forklift will be used to unload and stock parts. Communication with maintenance associates, drivers, and operations teams on the status of repairs is required. Following repair guidelines and standard operating procedures is essential.

Skills and qualifications include strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and understand technical reference materials, and providing own tools within 30 days of hire. Previous welding and electrical experience is preferred. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
