Description: This unit has 6 private beds and is considered a high acuity step-down, low acuity ICU unit. The unit currently serves COVID patients. Ratios are 1 to 2. Shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Holidays are generally not worked by travelers, depending on the schedule and permanent staff availability. Scrub color is royal blue. The nurse will be expected to float to a Tele-MedSurg unit. One shift of floor orientation will be provided. Common diagnoses and types of patients include sepsis, COPD, DKA, overdose, renal issues, surgical patients, and respiratory issues. PPE supply has been adequate, with N95 masks used for 24 hours before disposal. The nurse will be required to take an ECG exam on the first day. Cancellation policy allows for the cancellation of one week's worth of guaranteed hours over the 13-week period. Charting system used is TruBridge - Evident.
