Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified Interventional Radiology Nurse to join our dynamic team in Port Charlotte, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in the Interventional Radiology department.

General Information

• Shift: 9 AM - 5:30 PM
• Length of Assignment: 13 or 26 weeks
• Bed Capacity: 253
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 (variable)
• Floor: IR Suite, Main Building

Unit Information

The Interventional Radiology team consists of 6 staff members including a Director, Supervisor, Lead IR Tech, IR RNs, and IR Techs. Staff rotation includes:

• 2 IR RNs and 2-3 IR Techs on Day Shift, with flexibility based on volume and arrival patterns.
• On-call shifts for IR RNs and IR Techs during nights and weekends, requiring participation in call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and carry out physician orders.
• Conduct initial assessments and develop patient care plans.
• Monitor lab results and review patient medical histories.
• Insert and remove intravenous lines to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
• Assist as a circulator or scrub in to support IR Techs during procedures.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:



• Active Florida Registered Nurse license or appropriate compact licensure.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• Minimum of 1 year Critical Care, ICU, or ER experience.
• Preferred Skills:
• Previous Interventional Radiology experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience with Meditech EMR.
