Nursing Supervisor Registered Nurse (RN) Psych Per Diem Evening

Nursing Supervisor Location: Trinitas Regional Medical Center, 655 E. Jersey Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07206. Shift: Evening, Per Diem. Pay: $66.69 per hour. Job Overview The Trinitas Department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry, part of Trinitas Regional Medical Center and an RWJBarnabas Health facility, provides comprehensive treatments for daily stress, aging challenges, child development, and chemical dependency alternatives. The 98‑bed inpatient facility offers specialized care for adults, children, adolescents, and families, including services for mentally ill or developmentally disabled individuals. The department serves individuals from Union County and across New Jersey, with over 200,000 outpatient visits annually. Services include Mobile Crisis Units, Inpatient and Outpatient care, and multidisciplinary teams, including bilingual staff. The department leads in inpatient psychiatric care for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and trauma‑focused residential programs for adolescent girls. Qualifications ASN or Nursing Diploma 3–5 years of direct patient care in Psych, Behavioral Health, Med./Surg, Telemetry, and/or ER nursing Strong communication and organizational skills Proficient computer skills Certifications and Licenses Required BLS through American Heart Association upon hire ACLS Certification within 6 months of start date Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact Registered Nurse License with New Jersey endorsement Preferred BSN / MSN / DNP National nursing certifications Scheduling Requirements Per Diem, Evening shift Monday–Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed by department Minimum of two shifts per month Example schedule: Week 1 – Sunday 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, Thursday 4:00 PM–12:30 AM, Friday 4:00 PM–12:30 AM; Week 2 – Monday 4:00 PM–12:30 AM, Tuesday 4:00 PM–12:30 AM, Saturday 7:00 AM–7:00 PM Essential Functions Implement the mission, vision, philosophy, core values, and standards of practice for all staff on tours and weekends Serve as a catalyst and role model, providing administrative leadership and direction Allocate resources to promote autonomous, effective, safe, cost‑efficient, and compassionate quality care Facilitate an interactive management atmosphere and develop collegial relationships among nursing personnel and other disciplines, as well as with the broader healthcare community Accountable for the acute care environment and create learning experiences that are open, respectful, and promote sharing of expertise Enhance the practice environment to recruit and retain staff Contribute to organizational strategic planning, day‑to‑day hospital operations, implementation of standards of care, attainment of goals, and evidence‑based practices Other Duties Additional duties may be added or modified at any time without notice.
