Tax Manager (Construction)

AtlantaTax /Full-Time /HybridMoore Colson is seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing Tax practice in Atlanta, with a primary focus on serving clients in the construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional to continue working on complex, meaningful tax engagements while building a long-term career within an independent firm.As a leader within our Tax team, you will manage client relationships, review complex tax returns, provide strategic tax guidance, and develop the next generation of professionals. You will have direct access to clients and firm leadership while working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that values initiative, professional growth, and exceptional client service.At Moore Colson, you will join one of Atlanta’s most respected CPA firms, recognized locally and nationally for its independence, workplace culture, and commitment to developing its people.What You’ll Do:Review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for construction businessesPrepare complex business income tax returns as neededProvide clients with proactive tax consulting, planning, and projection servicesResearch complex tax matters and provide clear, practical recommendationsDelegate tax preparation and research assignments while monitoring quality, deadlines, and engagement progressManage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on tax-related mattersCommunicate tax strategies, technical conclusions, and engagement updates to clients and internal stakeholdersMentor, coach, and develop team members while providing timely and constructive feedbackCollaborate with partners and other practice areas to identify opportunities to provide additional value to clientsContribute to the continued growth and success of the Tax practiceRequirementsActive CPA license requiredRelevant experience working with clients in the construction industryBachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related fieldMaster’s degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred4-7 years of progressive tax experience in public accountingExperience reviewing complex business and individual income tax returnsStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulationsExceptional Excel skillsProficiency with tax automation/workflow software is a plusExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrong client service mindset and consultative approachSelf-directed and ambitiousWhy Moore Colson?We believe our people are our greatest asset.
