Physician Assistant

Job Summary A Canadian Armed Forces Physician Assistant is part of the greater military health services team, providing primary and emergency health care for CAF members domestically and abroad. Physician Assistants are employed throughout Canada at Health Services Clinics, onboard ship or overseas in support of operational missions. Primary Responsibilities Provide primary health care; Promote health protection and education; Practice environmental medicine and hyperbaric medicine; Promote occupational health and safety. Work Environment Physician Assistants may serve wherever CAF members are based, including fully equipped medical clinics at bases or garrison, temporary clinics supporting operations, isolated locations such as onboard ships and submarines. In the Regular Force, you may be assigned to a base after training and may relocate. In the Primary Reserve Force, you work within a specific Reserve unit on a part‑time basis, typically one night per week and some weekends, with possibilities of full‑time employment. Qualifications Applicants must hold a Baccalaureate or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program, be a Certified PA with current Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) Certification, and be registered to practice as a Physician Assistant in a Canadian province or territory.
