Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of climate control equipment, including chillers, boilers, and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Work on and support VRF systems, VAV boxes, split systems, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), make-up air units (MHUs), BAS controls, and other commercial HVAC systems.
• Lead teams through commercial HVAC installations of varying sizes and complexity, ensuring projects meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
• Safely utilize tools, equipment, and materials in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
• Keep accurate records of service visits, maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment installations.
• Maintain truck stock and inventory in line with company guidelines to ensure readiness for service calls.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships through professional communication and reliable service.
• Participate in client meetings when required to discuss system performance, project updates, and service recommendations.
• Utilize mobile technology for efficient communication, documentation, and real-time reporting from the field.
• Actively interface with a work order management system to receive assignments, update job status, and close out work orders.
• Stay current on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to HVAC systems and controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to optimize system performance and extend equipment life.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
• Complete other related tasks as assigned to support the overall service operation.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude with a keen eye for detail.
• High level of organization and ability to self-manage tasks to a high standard.
• 7+ years of HVAC experience, including extensive field service work.
• 7+ years of chiller experience working with commercial climate control systems.
• 3+ years of boiler experience in commercial environments.
• Demonstrated experience with VRF systems, VAV boxes, split systems, cooling towers, AHUs, MHUs, BAS controls, and other commercial HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in HVAC service, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with hydronics and related system components.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills related to HVAC equipment and controls.
• Ability to lead and coordinate teams on commercial HVAC installation projects.
• Comfort using mobile technology for communication and real-time reporting.
• Ability to actively work within a work order management system.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to safely utilize tools and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with onsite clients in a traveling service role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Pipe welding experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with Daikin equipment and systems is beneficial.
• Experience in field service roles with direct client interaction.
• Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Comfort participating in client meetings to discuss technical issues and solutions.
• Commitment to staying current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC systems.

Work Environment

This is a traveling service role that involves regular visits to client sites, requiring comfort and professionalism when interfacing directly with onsite clients. Work is primarily performed in commercial facilities and mechanical spaces, focusing on chillers, boilers, refrigeration systems, and a variety of HVAC equipment. The role relies heavily on mobile technology and a work order management system for communication and job tracking, and uses a company vehicle for service delivery. Technicians operate in environments that may include rooftops, mechanical rooms, and other commercial settings, where adherence to safety protocols and appropriate work attire is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sharonville, OH.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
