Senior Specialist II, Claims Technician Join AXIS Capital as a Senior Claims Specialist – Primary Casualty to manage primary claims for our U.S. Primary Casualty policies. About the Team We are part of the North America Claim Team, focusing on complex liability third-party primary casualty claims. What Will You Do In This Role? Evaluate complex claims to determine appropriate settlement strategies and ensure adherence to company policies. Ensure timely evaluation, reserving and disposition of assigned claims. Mentor junior claims adjusters, providing guidance and support for professional development. Utilize working knowledge of the legal frameworks and claims handling practices relevant to the applicable jurisdictions, especially Construction and New York Labor Law. Document coverage, investigation, damages, reserve rationale, negotiations, and other claim details. Review contracts for risk transfer evaluations, coverage analysis and tender review. Investigate potentially fraudulent claims and take appropriate action. Identify opportunities for contribution, subrogation, and contribution to the claim. What We're Looking For Expertise in evaluating and resolving complex claims within various jurisdictions. Ability to mentor and develop the professional skills of junior adjusters. Prior experience handling New York Labor Law, Product Liability and Complex litigation claims. Experience drafting coverage correspondence, writing coverage letters and responding to/issuing tenders. Skillful negotiation of settlements with stakeholders to achieve equitable solutions. Ability to recommend and justify the use of outside counsel in complex claims situations. Adept at networking and building relationships within professional and market associations. Track record of adhering to and enforcing company policies and procedures in claims processing. Role Factors This role requires office presence 3 days per week and adherence to AXIS licensing requirements. What We Offer The base salary range is $105,000 - $160,000 , based on experience and location.
