Industrial Controls Technician

Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Industrial Controls Technician to support the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of industrial automation and control systems within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime through effective troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, robotics, drives, sensors, and electrical control systems.The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical and automation troubleshooting skills, experience with PLC programming and diagnostics, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair industrial automation equipment, electrical systems, and production machinery.Diagnose issues involving PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and industrial networks.Perform modifications to PLC and HMI programs as needed to improve equipment performance and reliability.Support commissioning, startup, and installation of new manufacturing equipment and automation systems.Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical documentation.Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities on automated production equipment.Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve equipment issues.Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and uptime.Troubleshoot communication networks including Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet, and other industrial protocols.Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation within CMMS systems.Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.Required QualificationsAssociate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotics, or related field preferred.3+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment in a manufacturing environment.Strong PLC troubleshooting experience.Experience with one or more of the following platforms:- Allen-Bradley / RockwellSiemensOmronMitsubishiExperience troubleshooting HMIs and operator interfaces.Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems up to 480V.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.Experience with industrial sensors, motors, drives, and control panels.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Preferred QualificationsRobotics experience including troubleshooting and programming.Experience with:- FANUC RoboticsABB RoboticsYaskawa MotomanKUKA RoboticsServo motor and motion control experience.Vision systems experience.Industrial networking experience.Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.Technical SkillsPLC Programming & TroubleshootingHMI Development & DiagnosticsVFDs & Servo DrivesRobotics & Automation SystemsElectrical TroubleshootingMotion Control SystemsIndustrial NetworkingRoot Cause AnalysisPreventative MaintenanceCMMS SystemsControl Panel TroubleshootingManufacturing AutomationBenefitsCompetitive PayMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysTuition ReimbursementCareer Advancement OpportunitiesOngoing Technical Training #J-18808-Ljbffr
