Telecommunications Technician

Overview We are hiring a hands-on Deployment Technician to support onsite work, including site surveys, phone placement validation, structured cutover support, and day-of go-live activities. This role is ideal for telecommunications and network support technicians who enjoy field work. Key Responsibilities Site Surveys & Pre-Deployment Work Conduct detailed site surveys across multiple facilities and office buildings Identify all existing phone locations, wall plates, labels, and cabling pathways Validate data drop locations and ensure network ports are correctly identified Coordinate closely with the lead technician and engineering teams Deployment & Cutover Support Stage, place, and connect new VoIP phones Verify connectivity and assist with basic troubleshooting during cutovers Provide in-person support to end users during go-live windows Ensure phone configurations match project requirements and expected layouts Serve as onsite support during all major cutover events Cross-Functional Coordination Work directly with the project lead to meet timeline expectations Collaborate with network engineers as needed (no deep engineering required) Communicate clearly with end users to understand issues and elevate appropriately Follow structured processes to support consistent, high-quality deployment Required Skills & Experience Experience as a Telecommunications Technician, Network Technician, Phone Technician, VoIP Support Technician , or similar Hands‑on experience with Avaya and/or Cisco phone systems Basic understanding of network drops, patching, and switch port assignments Ability to interpret floor plans, site maps, and cabling diagrams High attention to detail—precision and accuracy are essential Strong communication skills when working with end users Ability to work overnight shifts during deployment periods Note: At this time, our client is unable to offer visa sponsorship.
