Job Title: Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician Location: Richmond, Virginia Shift: 1st Starting Compensation Range: $26.46 - $38.81 per hour The EPG Rental Technician is responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing EPG rental equipment for power, temperature control, air, pumps and used equipment, at a Carter or customer facility, by performing the following duties. Requirements for the EPG Rental Technician position include: Must have a thorough understanding of Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps Must be able to perform product improvement plans on Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pups, UPS and paralleling Must be able to work independently in the field as needed to support all PSD rental equipment Must have advanced troubleshooting skills Must work well in a team environment Must be a strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service Be available for after‑hours emergency service requests for customers; 24/7/365 Must be able to work additional hours as required and travel out of town, including out of the country to meet customers’ demands Experience in the use and application of electronic software Must have an excellent driving record required with the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification Promote a positive customer experience Uphold the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence and Teamwork by embracing The Carter Way Seeking Candidates with: Previous experience with UPS and parallels, diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment High school diploma or GED, required Physical Requirements: Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear Frequently required to sit Regularly lift and/or more up to 70 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
