Production Supervisor

Location: San Antonio, 78223

Shift: 2nd shift 3:30pm-12:00am (midnight)

Pay: $18-22/hr DOE

Summary: Provides direct supervision of operators. Trains new employees and provides regular feedback regarding performance. Responsible for providing ongoing coaching to help operators improve performance.

Experience:

• 1 year of work experience required in culinary/food manufacturing environment and at least 6 months as a Shift Leader.
• Must be able to train, explain and answer questions regarding recipes, proper procedures and measurement techniques to employees.
• Must be able to identify errors such as improper procedures, scaling, hygiene, sanitation, safety.
• Ability to provide feedback to employees and provide ongoing coaching to ensure that corrections have been made.
• Attention to details is critical
• Requires the ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred.
• Must have excellent listening skills.
• Interacts with other employees within the company.
• Rarely communicates with external vendors, delivery personnel or customers.
• Requires the ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Job Responsibilities:

• Trains new employees to properly perform tasks and complete recipes.
• Provides regular feedback regarding operators' performance, recognizing excellence and areas needing improvement.
• Provide coaching to operators who need additional help to improve performance.
• Checks daily schedule and oversees preparation of workstation in accordance to assigned recipe including assembling all materials and equipment.
• Verify raw materials, partially prepped food, and completed food meets approved quality standards.
• Report quality problems to Production Manager and/or QA immediately.
• Verify equipment works correctly at beginning, during and end of shift. Report any problems.
• Verifies that workstation procedures include accurately measuring/weighing raw and prepared food are followed.
• Verifies procedures for storing prepared food items (raw and/or cooked) for next step in the sous vide cooking process are followed.
• Verifies approved sanitation policies concerning temperature control, cross contamination, food preparation, and cleanup are followed.
• Verify all safety policies including proper use of knives, grills, ovens, searing and other food preparation equipment, and packaging equipment are followed.
• May assist operators perform procedures for a recipe if needed to train/coach an employee or if volume of work requires.
• Follows detailed instructions.
• Reports any quality or equipment problems to supervisor.
