Job Description: This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and hands on career development, identifying emerging talent, fostering leadership skills, and managing stakeholders. Position Summary The ideal candidate will demonstrate a unique blend of strategic leadership, technical acumen, and organizational influence to drive enterprise-scale technology initiatives. This role requires proven ability to lead complex programs, manage risk, and foster innovation while ensuring operational excellence. Responsibilities: Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders Managerial Responsibilities: This position may also have responsibilities for managing associates. Technical Expertise Enterprise Data Platforms & Modernization: Deep experience in Hadoop ecosystems, Cloudera CDP upgrades, federated compute/storage architecture, and advanced data lake solutions. Infrastructure Scaling & Optimization: Proven ability to deliver creative infrastructure growth, implement secure and governed architectures, and enable self-service capabilities. Risk Management & Compliance: Strong background in vulnerability remediation) OS upgrades and automation strategies to reduce technical debt and improve efficiency. Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Track record of delivering AI/GenAI solutions, decommissioning legacy platforms, and implementing cost-efficient in-house models. Strategic Program Delivery Successful execution of large-scale application migrations, platform upgrades, and modernization initiatives supporting critical regulatory programs. Ability to secure and manage multi-million-dollar funding for technology programs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Required Qualifications Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Impala, Hive, Hbase etc. Strong knowledge of Hadoop Architecture, HDFS, Hadoop Cluster and Hadoop Administrator's role Intimate knowledge of fully integrated AD/Kerberos authentication Experience setting up optimum cluster configurations Debugging knowledge of YARN. Hands-on with analyzing various Hadoop log files, compression, encoding, & file formats Expert level knowledge of Cloudera Hadoop components such as HDFS, Sentry, HBase, Kafka, Impala, SOLR, Hue, Spark, Hive, YARN, Zookeeper and Postgres Strong technical knowledge: Unix/Linux; Database (Sybase/SQL/Oracle), Java, Python, Perl, Shell scripting, Infrastructure. (For example, don't mention your fondness for swimming unless you want to work on the water.) • Don't use italics, underlining, shadows or other fancy treatments. Seven steps to a successful interview 1. Anticipate –Put yourself in the interviewer's position. What do you believe the interviewer is most interested in? Why do you think you have been invited to interview? 2. Research –What are the primary functions of the line of business? What are the success factors for the job? Is there a job description available? 3. Assess –Think about your skills, abilities, knowledge, interests, traits, values and accomplishments. Match them to what you know about the job. Consider which ones you should highlight. 4. Prepare Answers –Think about what the interviewer may ask, determine what the best answer is and write it down. 5. Prepare Questions – Interviewing is a two-way street. By asking thoughtful questions, you communicate your interest and learn a lot about the job. Choose two or three questions to ask your interviewer. Avoid asking a lot of questions about vacation time or breaks. 6. Practice – It may seem awkward, but it is the best way to come across well in an interview. Practice your own "great responses" with others or in front of a mirror until you appear relaxed and at ease. 7. Follow-up – Send a brief follow-up letter to the interviewer.
