Curriculum Program Manager

Job Description Uses skills of instructional design and multimedia development as an experienced professional to help shape curricular content into coherent instructional modules that employ multimedia and a variety of interactive, web‑based tools aimed at encouraging the engagement of students and other learners in knowledge acquisition. Demonstrates high degree of collaboration and diplomacy as well as problem analysis and creative solutions. Solves complex content or delivery related issues in collaboration with technical teams. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Normally receives little direction for ongoing course development assignments. Responsibilities Apply professional instructional design skills (35% of time): Manage the creation, organization, and continuous improvement of GBHI educational materials delivered synchronously and asynchronously, across online and in‑person formats. Partner with faculty to design, structure, and continuously enhance the GBHI curriculum, including development of learning objectives and alignment of course content with stated outcomes. Adapt and refine existing curriculum to support evolving program needs, adhering to academic standards of our UC‑approved Certificate program. Establish and maintain standards for instructional quality, content consistency, and overall presentation of course materials. Oversee development of supplemental curriculum offerings, including learning experiences for alumni. Incorporate learner feedback and assessment data to inform continuous improvement. Consult with faculty and staff (20% of time): Advise faculty on instructional strategies, delivery methods, and effective use of technology for hybrid and online learning environments. Provide guidance on curriculum adaptations related to program changes, including Certificate program requirements. Partner with faculty to enhance learner engagement and overall learning effectiveness. Facilitate the creation of learning materials and deploy content on GBHI’s learning management platform, Canvas (20% of time): Support development, editing, and organization of multimedia and interactive learning materials. Oversee production, formatting, and timely delivery of course content in alignment with program schedules. Maintain and update course content within Canvas, including troubleshooting issues and supporting platform improvements. Ensure consistency, accessibility (ADA), quality, and usability of all curriculum materials across formats and platforms. Liaise with Canvas/Instructure representatives to support platform optimization, troubleshoot issues, maintain the GBHI Canvas site, and evaluate and implement new features to enhance curriculum delivery. Support instructional delivery and ensure an effective learning environment (20% of time): Monitor course delivery and learner progress throughout the instructional term to ensure alignment with program expectations. Participate in all synchronous learning sessions to support facilitation and promote active learner engagement. Serve as a primary point of contact for learners regarding course content, assignments, and materials. Identify and resolve instructional, technical, and logistical issues in real time to maintain a smooth classroom environment. Support faculty during live sessions to ensure effective delivery and address emerging needs. Collaborate with others in a diverse environment (5% of time): Prioritize work assignments, conduct analysis, and develop recommendations. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, public health, or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience designing and supporting online or hybrid learning programs. Experience working with faculty or subject matter experts to develop curriculum and learning materials. Demonstrated experience using a learning management system (e.g., Canvas) to design and build engaging, learner‑centered courses. Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem‑solving skills. Strong analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong collaboration and negotiation skills. Thorough knowledge of instructional design principles and learning strategies, including needs analysis, backwards design, learning outcomes and assessment design, and instructional approaches including lecture, discussion, activities, projects, etc. Thorough knowledge of applying adult learning theories and educational methodologies. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Ability to facilitate inclusive and engaging learning environments for diverse adult learners. Advanced level skills in application of planning, resourcing and monitoring of effective design life cycles of training and other learning and performance solutions to support the organization. Knowledge to conduct appropriate job and task analyses in the context of instructional design of technical or specialized training. Thorough knowledge and skills with relevant business software systems. Thorough knowledge of organization policies and procedures, including policies that impact online course development.
