Telemedicine Pain Management Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (CA)

About the Position

Compass Palliative is seeking a qualified California-licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide Telemedicine Pain Management services to patients throughout California.

This role focuses specifically on pain assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management , including the prescribing and management of pain medications for patients with acute and chronic pain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telemedicine evaluations and assessments of patients with acute and chronic pain.
• Prescribe, manage, and refill pain medications as clinically appropriate and within applicable regulations.
• Develop and adjust individualized pain management and medication treatment plans based on patient response.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, adherence, side effects, and potential risks.
• Document assessments, diagnoses, prescriptions, treatment plans, and follow-up care; collaborate with physicians as needed.

Requirements

• Active California NP or PA license
• Active DEA license/registration
• Experience in pain management and/or prescribing pain medications preferred
• Experience managing acute or chronic pain patients preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
• Comfortable providing patient care through telemedicine
