Overview Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship at Walgreens. Base pay range: $16.50/hr - $20.00/hr. This role focuses on patient-centric pharmacy care and customer interaction. The program provides foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experiences to prepare you for certification. Responsibilities Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and related duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist with system operation and cashier responsibilities in the pharmacy. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions. Engage in inventory management activities, process prescriptions, enter patient and drug information, check for interactions, and support workflow as directed by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager. Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, codes of conduct, and company policies; report prescription errors promptly. Handle cash register operations as required and assist customers in locating products; manage telecommunication with physicians when needed. Support administrative and clerical duties related to prescriptions, third-party claims, and general store operations. Assist with clinical services coordination, including collecting and labeling samples when required and coordinating with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers. Assist with community relations and medical provider outreach to support growth opportunities for pharmacy services. Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked, clean, and orderly and support asset protection and inventory controls. Complete special assignments and other tasks as directed by management. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications: Six months of experience in a retail environment; prior Walgreens experience; strong math, computer, and inventory control skills; PTCB certification preferred.
