II. SUMMARY OF POSITION'S PURPOSE

Provides clerical support to the Guidance Counselor with respect to new student registration, withdrawals, attendance and other related functions.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    1. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION - High School Diploma or its equivalent.
    2. EXPERIENCE - Minimum of 6 months to 1 year in general clerical activities.
    3. SKILLS - Must have the ability to utilize general office equipment to include basic computer skills.
IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provides clerical support to the Guidance Counselor including, but not limited to, typing reports, answering phones, making copies and preparing student files.
  2. Prepares all paperwork related to the registration of new students.
  3. Prepares all paperwork related to the withdrawal of students.
  4. Assists Counselor in coordinating standardized testing.
  5. Maintains an updated custody list.
  6. Coordinates all clerical activities related to student attendance tracking.
  7. Enters grades at the end of each 9 week period and prepares report cards.
  8. Ensures that all student data is updated on the computer in an accurate and timely manner.
  9. Assists the School Nurse by distributing approved medications and checking students for lice.
  10. Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
  11. Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  12. Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Assists with the orientation of new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
  13. Performs other services as required.
