Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, in a safe and skillful manner

Prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures

Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the presence of the patient

Maintain accurate records and dialysis documentation

Provide excellent customer service by explaining procedures and creating a comfortable environment for patients

Ensure compliance with safety policies, confidentiality requirements, and workplace standards

Perform duties independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established protocols

Support process improvement initiatives and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions

Required Skills

Proven phlebotomy skills including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections

Strong attention to detail and ability to perform error-free work in a high-volume environment

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities effectively

Basic keyboard and data entry experience

Knowledge of laboratory specimen handling and documentation processes

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington

1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections

Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment preferred

Flexible scheduling to include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable

Ability to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice
