Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Overland Park, Kansas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 12/14/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Dec 14, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring one year of recent inpatient acute care experience and a KS or compact RN license.Details\n \n 24-bed Med/Surg unit (4 South, Tower B, 4th floor)\n Night shift schedule, 7p-7a\n Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs/LPNs, and 2 PCTs per shift, plus a unit clerk on days\n Patient ratio of 6:1\n Weekend rotation of 4 shifts (Fri, Sat, or Sun) within a 4-week period\n Uses Meditech EMR\n Performs procedures including PIV, central line, foley, NG tube, and drain insertion/management/removal\n Manages wound care, ostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, and chest tubes\n Utilizes Alaris IV pumps, Hoyer/Sara Steady lifts, feeding pumps, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, iMobile, and vein finder equipment\n Supported by a Virtual Admission RN available 10am-10pm\n Requirements\n \n Active KS RN license or multistate/compact license required\n BLS and NIHSS certification required\n Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient acute care experience required\n Basic dysrhythmia knowledge required\n Trauma center experience preferred\n US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration\n No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit handling a variety of acute care procedures\n Royal blue scrub color required; black pants permitted\n Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-753846.
