Step into the heartbeat of daily freight operations

As our Freight Dispatch and Route Optimization Coordinator, you’ll orchestrate the flow of trucks, loads, and timelines to keep freight moving efficiently. Your day blends communication, planning, and fast decision-making to ensure customers are served and drivers are supported.

A day in the role

You’ll start by checking in with drivers, confirming availability, and reviewing the day’s pickup plan. As freight needs come in, you’ll post and manage open loads, align the right driver at the right time, and map out effective routes. Throughout the day, you’ll monitor progress, address delays, update stakeholders, and keep orders accurate in the system. From first dispatch to final delivery, you’re the control tower that keeps everything on course.

What you’ll handle

• Driver check-ins and clear, timely communication
• Coordinating and organizing daily pickups
• Posting and managing available loads across platforms
• Route planning and schedule creation to maximize efficiency
• Dispatching drivers and tracking load status through completion
• Accurate order entry and system updates
• Proactively flagging and communicating delays, issues, or deviations
• Delivering reliable, customer-focused service while keeping freight on time

Schedule

• Local Freight: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Regional Freight: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• OTR Freight: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Shifts typically run 10–11 hours per day .

Additional details

• Please bring lunch daily; opportunities to leave the facility during the workday are generally limited.
• Drayage experience is a plus.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.

Compensation

Salary in the mid-$40,000 range , depending on experience and qualifications.
