Staff Accountant

Our client is a manufacturing organization in the Waukesha County area that's looking for a Staff Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 2+ years of experience, organized, and has high attention to detail. The salary for this position is $60K $68K.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Assist with processing accounts payable, with an immediate focus on helping clean up the AP backlog and supporting non-PO AP activity.
• Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with month-end close processes, reporting, and related accounting support.
• Support sales tax filings, collections processes, and implementation of new credit card and expense management solutions.
• Contribute to process improvement, automation, and systems implementation efforts while gaining exposure to analytical accounting and cost analysis over time.

The Staff Accountant will possess the following:

Experience Required

• 2+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to AP, AR, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close support.
• Degree is not required; candidates without a degree should have 4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Comfortable working in a smaller company environment, supporting both clerical accounting tasks and broader accounting responsibilities as needed.
• Personable, collaborative, and an interest in process improvements.
