About This Job:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) , you play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to our patients. You work under the direction of licensed nursing staff to assist patients with their daily needs, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Your dedication and empathy contribute directly to creating a supportive and healing environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care , including bathing, dressing, and feeding, while adhering to established care plans and facility policies.
• Performs vital signs monitoring , accurately recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration, and promptly reports any changes or abnormalities to the nursing staff.
• Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) , such as toileting, ambulation, and personal hygiene, promoting independence and dignity.
• Assists with medication administration under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of prescribed medications.
• Maintains accurate and timely Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation of patient care, observations, and any changes in condition, adhering to facility standards and HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintains open and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members, conveying important information and addressing concerns with empathy and respect.
• Demonstrates empathy and compassion in all interactions with patients, providing emotional support and fostering a positive and trusting relationship.
• Adheres to strict infection control protocols and practices, including hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and proper disposal of contaminated materials, to prevent the spread of infection.
• Provides basic first aid in emergency situations, following established protocols and seeking immediate assistance from licensed nursing staff as needed.
• Maintains current CPR certification and responds appropriately in emergency situations, providing life-saving interventions until advanced medical help arrives.

Required Qualifications:
Education:

• Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• Prior experience as a CNA in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with elderly or disabled individuals is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing care principles and practices.
• Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills .
• Exhibits empathy , patience, and a positive attitude.
• Maintains current knowledge of infection control protocols and safety procedures.
• Proficient in taking and recording vital signs .
• Demonstrates ability to document accurately and efficiently in Electronic Health Records (EHR) .
• Holds current CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with specific patient populations (e.g., dementia care, rehabilitation).
• Additional certifications in related areas (e.g., restorative nursing).

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and transfer patients safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
• Exposure to various healthcare environments, including potential exposure to infectious diseases.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
