Chemist – Hair Care Product Development (GMP/OTC Environment) Location: Palm Springs, FL (Relocation Assistance available!) Salary: $85,000‑$90,000/year with bonus potential Job Description We are seeking a motivated Chemist to support the development and manufacturing of hair care and personal care products in a regulated environment. This role will focus on formulation, analytical testing, and process support for products such as shampoos, conditioners, treatments, and styling products. Key Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and scale formulations for hair care products including shampoos, conditioners, creams, and treatments Conduct bench‑top experiments, stability studies, and compatibility testing to ensure product performance and shelf life Perform analytical and physical testing (e.g., pH, viscosity, appearance, microbial testing support) on raw materials, in‑process, and finished products Support technology transfer and scale‑up activities from lab to manufacturing Document all formulation and testing activities in accordance with GMP and data integrity standards Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing issues, recommending improvements for product quality and process efficiency Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Marketing Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (FDA, OTC, cosmetic regulations) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field Experience in personal care, cosmetics, or OTC product development preferred Knowledge of emulsions, surfactants, and formulation principles for hair care products Familiarity with GMP practices and documentation requirements Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Skills Experience with scale‑up and manufacturing support Understanding of stability protocols and preservative systems Familiarity with cosmetic regulatory requirements and labeling Experience with laboratory instrumentation and physical testing methods Kelly is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants regardless of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, or any other legally protected status, and we take affirmative action to recruit, employ, and advance qualified individuals with disabilities and protected veterans in the workforce.
