Jack in the Box Restaurant Manager: Store 0012 Imperial Beach, CA 91932 - $25.00 - $33.00 / hour - full time Job Description Responsible for managing the overall operations of a Jack in the Box unit. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Develops team to provide excellent internal service, external service, and build restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties and Responsibilities Internal Service Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees. Monitor staffing levels to ensure sufficient development and talent; ensure systems for training employees on workstations are fully implemented and adhered to by management and crew. Identify and develop internal candidates for management and Team Leader positions. Work with the restaurant management team to ensure all facets of "My Promise to You" and the Service Profit Chain are executed. Create a restaurant environment that is employee friendly, fun, clean and safe; motivate and inspire employees to achieve high performance; treat all employees with respect and dignity. Regularly recognize and reward employees, utilize JIB systems, processes, and tools, and comply with all state and federal labor laws and regulations. External Service Manage daily activities to achieve excellence in restaurant operational performance. Provide an exceptional experience for the guests by ensuring proper training and holding the restaurant team accountable for consistently delivering excellent guest service and food quality. Review practices and modify as needed to continuously improve the guest experience; maintain visibility and interaction with guests; respond to guest concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Ensure the management team and crew understand and operate all systems correctly, maintain the brand image of restaurant cleanliness, maintenance, and exceptional service. Sales & Profits Utilize management information tools to analyze restaurant operational and financial performance each period, including I&E, quality and service reports, health inspections, HACCP, etc.; identify trends and implement action plans for improvement. Use data to analyze business results and consult with regional and CSC resources as needed. Focus on increasing restaurant sales and profitability through execution of the Service Profit Chain and understanding its impact on overall business. Consider cost/benefit impact of financial decisions and work to protect the JIB brand; monitor costs and adherence to budget and restaurant goals. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Internal Promote: Minimum 1 year as an Associate Manager and/or 2 years as a First Assistant Manager, 100% certified in all workstations; External Recruit: Minimum 3 years managing a service concept with full P&L responsibility. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Minimum 18 years old; complete Restaurant Manager training classes; ServSafe certified; speak, read, write effectively in English; excellent interpersonal skills; basic math concepts; proven analytical skills; good organization and planning skills; self‑starter; proficient knowledge of personal computers and related software applications; valid driver's license and insurance; use personal vehicle for bank deposits and travel to other locations; demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk 85-95% of shift; lift and carry 10-65 lbs; move freely throughout the restaurant; operate restaurant equipment and drive a motor vehicle; operate a computer keyboard.
