Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 12-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Hospital-based Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
• 16-bed unit with an average daily census of 16 and a 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
• Patients present with post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
• Peritoneal dialysis, telemetry, EKG, and Doppler skills utilized

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Skills needed include respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, oxygen administration), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac drips (no titration) and vasoactive drips (no titration) required
• Experience with pacemakers, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and pre/post cardiac surgery care required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry patients including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response using rapid response/code teams
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with RTO blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required per facility policy: if 1-2 major holidays fall during the assignment, both must be worked; if 3 major holidays fall during the assignment, 2 must be worked
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
