Registered Nurse, Med Surg – Pagosa Springs, CO | Travel - Temporary Assignment
Start date: 08/23/2026 • Duration: 13 weeks • Weekly pay: $2,097–$2,201 • Guaranteed hours: 36/week • Shift: 3x12-hour days • Setting: hospital

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult Med Surg patients within the RN scope of practice and per provider orders.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust care plans, administer nursing interventions, and reassess patient status.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, oxygen, blood products, and other treatments; operate infusion pumps and document accurately in the electronic health record.
- Monitor for changes in condition, interpret data (including cardiac monitoring), and escalate with abnormal findings per protocol.
- Document all assessments, care tasks, and patient education using Cerner EMR; use Care Compass and SBAR for handoffs and care coordination.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, medications, pain management, wound care, discharge planning, and follow-up care; collaborate with the care team to support continuity of care and reduce readmission risk.
- Maintain infection prevention practices, patient confidentiality, and professional standards; mentor and support other nursing staff as needed.

Requirements
- Current Colorado RN license in good standing or ability to obtain licensure.
- Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience.
- Previous traveler/nurse staffing experience.
- Cerner EHR/EMR experience required.
- BLS required; ACLS and PALS required or must be completed by the next available course within 3 months.
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Basic computer skills and ability to work effectively in a hospital setting.
