Purchasing Agent

Roseville Precision, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support our purchasing and manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for sourcing materials, components, hardware, and outside services needed to support production while maintaining competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery.

The Purchasing Agent will work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Receiving, Inventory, and management to ensure materials and services are available when needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Issue purchase orders for raw materials, hardware, components, supplies, and outside processing.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes, pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Source new suppliers and assist with supplier development and qualification.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding open purchase orders, shortages, late deliveries, and expedites.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and other purchasing requirements.
• Review material requirements, BOMs, job requirements, and production schedules.
• Maintain accurate purchasing information within the ERP/MRP system.
• Work with Receiving and Quality to resolve quantity, delivery, documentation, and quality discrepancies.
• Assist with supplier performance monitoring, including quality and on-time delivery.
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier documentation, pricing information, and related records.
• Communicate material shortages and supplier issues to Production and management.
• Assist with inventory control and reduction of excess or obsolete material.
• Support cost-reduction and supplier-consolidation efforts.
• Coordinate outside processes such as machining, plating, heat treating, finishing, or other subcontracted manufacturing services.
• Perform other purchasing and supply-chain duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience preferred.
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience purchasing raw materials, fabricated parts, hardware, or outside processing is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand purchase orders, BOMs, basic drawings, specifications, and part revisions.
• Strong communication and supplier-management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems required; JobBOSS²/E2 experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general business software.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, powder coating, aerospace, defense, medical equipment, or other precision manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

The successful Purchasing Agent will help ensure materials arrive on time, supplier issues are addressed quickly, purchasing records remain accurate, and Production has the materials and outside services necessary to meet customer schedules.

Work Environment:
This is an on-site position supporting a fast-paced precision manufacturing operation. The position requires frequent communication with suppliers and coordination with Production, Engineering, Quality, Receiving, Inventory, and management.

Compensation:
Competitive hourly or salary compensation based on experience, along with company benefits.
