Restaurant Manager

Cedar Landing is looking to hire a Restaurant Manager Apply in Person at Cedar Landing restaurant in Winfield, AL ### Core Purpose The manager ensures that Cedar Landing runs efficiently day-to-day by supervising staff, maintaining food quality and service standards, and creating a welcoming, well-organized environment for guests. ## Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, shift planning, and staff coordination. - Supervise front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring smooth communication between servers, cooks, and the expediter. - Maintain high standards for food quality, portion consistency, and presentation, especially for Cedar Landing's Southern comfort dishes, seafood plates, and daily specials. - Manage staffing needs: hiring, training, scheduling, and performance feedback. - Handle guest interactions, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive dining experience. - Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage vendor relationships for food, supplies, and equipment. - Ensure compliance with Alabama food safety and sanitation regulations. - Track daily sales, manage cash handling, and support budgeting and cost control. - Coordinate special events, catering orders, or high-traffic days common in small-town restaurants. - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dining room and kitchen environment. ## Skills and Qualifications - Experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles. - Strong leadership and communication skills to guide both kitchen and dining room teams. - Knowledge of Southern/American cuisine operations is helpful. - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, family-style restaurant environment. - Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and Alabama health regulations. - Basic financial and administrative skills (scheduling, inventory, cash handling). - Calm, solutions-focused approach to customer service and staff challenges. ## Work Environment Cedar Landing operates with steady lunch and dinner traffic, offering a mix of dine-in, takeout, and daily specials. The manager works on their feet, moves between the dining room and kitchen, and handles both guest-facing and operational tasks throughout each shift. **Salary:**Pay is based on experience, but can increase based on good performance, higher experience Shift: Day and Night shifts available. **Requirements:**Experience preferred. Cooking experience is a plus.
