Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Richmond, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on logistics professional who can lead daily mailroom and shipping operations while also performing local driving duties as needed.

The Shipping Supervisor will help keep materials, mail, packages, and outbound shipments moving accurately and on schedule. Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily mailroom, shipping, receiving, and package handling activities to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Coordinate outgoing shipments, internal mail distribution, package tracking, and related documentation.
- Perform local driving duties to pick up, deliver, or transport mail, packages, supplies, or materials as required.
- Lead and support team members by assigning work, monitoring productivity, and maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized mailroom, shipping area, and vehicle in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate with internal departments, vendors, carriers, and team members to resolve shipment or delivery issues.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $26.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Location: Richmond, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Supervise mailroom, shipping, receiving, and package distribution operations.
- Coordinate outbound shipments, delivery routes, carrier pickups, and internal mail movement.
- Perform local driving duties safely and professionally.
- Monitor workflow, team performance, accuracy, and daily shipping deadlines.

- Management-level experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, mailroom operations, logistics, or a related environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to perform driving duties as part of the role.
- Strong understanding of package handling, shipment tracking, delivery documentation, and basic warehouse procedures.
- Ability to lead employees, prioritize tasks, and keep operations moving in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift, move, sort, and handle packages or materials as required in a mailroom or shipping environment.
- Dependable attendance, professional attitude, and commitment to safety and service quality.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous supervisory experience in a corporate mailroom, distribution center, warehouse, or logistics operation.
- Experience working with shipping carriers, delivery routes, package tracking systems, or mail processing equipment.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems used for shipping, inventory, email, and documentation.
- Strong customer service skills when interacting with internal staff, vendors, and delivery partners.
