About the Role:
Lagstein Law Firm is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Collector to join our dynamic personal injury team in Los Angeles, CA. This is a critical role where your organizational skills directly impact the success of our clients' cases. If you thrive in a fast-paced legal environment and take pride in precision and follow-through, we want to hear from you.
- Request, track, and obtain medical records, bills, and related documentation from hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records in the case management system
- Follow up persistently with medical providers to ensure timely receipt of records
- Review incoming records for completeness and accuracy before forwarding to attorneys
- Communicate with clients, medical offices, and legal staff regarding records status
- Prepare and send HIPAA-compliant authorizations and record request letters
- Log and track all outstanding requests and deadlines to support case timelines
- Prior experience in medical records retrieval, personal injury law, or a related legal/medical field preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical record request procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to meet strict deadlines
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
