Join our Ophthalmic patient-centric team and work with renowned physicians to perform Lens Replacement, Cataract Surgery, and Laser Vision Correction Procedures like SMILE, LASIK, EVO ICL, and PRK! Experience is required! This is a great opportunity to be in a Hybrid Clinic-Surgery setting.

Job Description:

• Requires leading and inspiring the clinic team to perform their best.

• Must be able to work on their feet all day.
• Must be able to learn quickly and become an expert in running multiple diagnostic devices.
• Must be quick, accurate, and able to take direction and correction.
• Involves quick and precise data entry.
• Must be able to work in a multi-tasking environment
• Must work well with others
• Experience or education in sterile technique is preferred
• Position is a full-time schedule, 5 days a week, with possible future rotating Saturdays. 

Job Description:

The Surgery Technician supports the surgical team by performing technical duties to ensure a welcoming, professional, and efficient surgical environment. This role demonstrates expertise in surgical technical skills, communication, time management, and patient care while assisting surgeons and supporting high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Supports:

• Prepares surgical rooms, ensures sterile fields, sets up instruments and equipment, and assists surgeons during procedures.
• Provides pre-operative and post-operative support to patients with professionalism and care.
• Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and equipment according to standards and protocols.
• Reviews charts, confirms clearances, and calculates treatments for each surgery patient to support surgical flow.
• Follows all surgical policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Assists in time-sensitive or emergent situations with a calm, level-headed demeanor.
• Demonstrates availability, punctuality, and flexibility, filling various roles as needed within surgical operations.
• Remains current on relevant surgical practices, policies, and organizational standards.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Collaborates:

• Communicates effectively with team members, surgeons, and administration to support efficient operations and patient care.

Required:

• Travel to other locations for training or meetings as required.

• Delegate or prioritize tasks effectively to meet workflow needs.
• Promote and participate in ongoing education and training.

• Commit to participating in strategic initiatives and special projects as needed.
• Complete relevant department certifications within the designated timeframe. 
• Complete and comply with all OSHA and HIPAA certifications. 
• Complete and maintain CPR certification.
• Commit to a full-time position, working five days a week, and participate in the on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; surgical tech certification preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience as a surgical tech required.
• Strong knowledge of surgical operations and technical procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and daily chart management.
• Strong computer and organizational skills, including intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive or similar cloud-based file management systems.
• Calm demeanor in emergent situations.

Work Schedule: Commit to working 40 hours per week, five days a week, and participating in the on-call rotation.
